May 17th: Summer Reads
–The weather is heating up (for half of the world), so what books remind you of summer and are your quintessential summer reads?
I’ll go with books that remind me of summer, k?
#1
The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket
I know, this isn’t very summer-y. But when I was little I used to lay on our trampoline on summer nights and read this book. Over and over. So it really reminds me of summer.
#2
The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall
I love this series! I need to reread it soon….
#3
Caddie Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink
This was one of my favorite books growing up. And the cover is just gorgeous!
#4
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
I read this book when I was pretty young. A family friend (we called her Meemee) got on to me for reading it. She thought I was too young for some of the content! 😉 If only she knew some of the books I’ve read. (I’m looking at you, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children!)
#5
Into the Land of the Unicorns by Bruce Coville
^THIS^ started my love for unicorns!!! I’ve read and reread books 1 & 2 and. Just. Gah! I wanted to go to Luster sooooooooo bad! 😦
And that’s that! I might do this again, no promises!
