Previously on Alex’s Charming Books-
Just kidding! Welcome back. I’m surprised peoples are actually hanging around. But anyway, it’s Tuesday again! You know what that means!
June 6: 10 Books From X Genre That I’ve Recently Added To My TBR List — I want to know what books have piqued your interest lately from whatever genre you choose!
(Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish)
I wasn’t sure if I was going to do this weeks topic, then thought YOLO! (Don’t tell my youth pastor I said that, she hates it when people say YOLO)
#1
Divergent by Veronica Roth
I bought Allegiant and decided to read the other books before starting it, so this is now on my TBR.
#2
The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan
I got this the same day as Allegiant. It seems pretty cool, I just haven’t gotten around to reading it yet.
#3
The Black Elfstone by Terry Brooks
I saw the show on Netflix a few months ago, but only recently found out there were books.
#4
The Spiderwick Chronicles by Holly Black
I grew up on the movie and have been looking forward to reading the books. But they’re so expensive! I can’t find them anywhere at a decent price .( .
#5
Coraline by Neil Gaiman
I know it’s scary and I’ll never sleep again, but I LOVED the movie! We aren’t allowed to watch it cause of the younger kids, but if I can get my hands on this book you better believe I’ll read it!
#6
Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao
I only added this to my TBR for the cover, without reading anything about it. I just read the summary AND I WANT TO READ IT KNOW! It sounds dark and violent and right up my alley! The only problem is I’m not sure my parents will let me. They have been more lenient with books lately. Not sure why, but I’m glad. Just a couple years ago they would never have let me read things like Agatha Christie, Alex Rider, or The Last of the Mohicans. Mom was hesitant to let me read The Outsiders! Maybe it’s because I’m growing up?
#7
The Shock of the Night by Patrick W. Carr
I loved the Staff and the Sword books and really want to continue reading Carr’s work.
#8
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
I wasn’t going to read the rest of these books, but why not? The first book was ok.
#9
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
I haven’t read any of Clare’s books yet, even though I own two of them! I really need to handle up on my TBR….
#10
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
I learned my lesson with Artemis Fowl, ALWAYS READ THE BOOKS IN ORDER! I have City of Ashes but I’m gonna read ^this^ first. I don’t want to be confused again, and I would like some surprises here!
