Hey! Welcome back, my little Charmlings! Hows your week going so far? Now, I know that things have been a little strange for the past week or so, but I’m trying to get this back under control while still working on The Jumper (its a new story I’m writing. Camp NaNo is helping some). Lets just get on with it, eh?
uly 5th: Books Without Romance
— A few (very, very few) people complained about the “shipping” topics lately, so I thought it would be good to talk about books that don’t have a romantic subplot! This is a really hard one, so if you can’t find any, you can talk about some where the romance is super super minor. Like barely mentioned… at all…(Top Five Wednesday is a book meme that Lainey started, and is now hosted by Sam at Thoughts on Tomes. If you want to join in checkout the Goodreads page!)
Now, we are gonna go way back down memory lane for this one!
#1
The Girl with the Silver Eyes by Willo Davis Roberts
My God, how I loved this book! Cause, what is better than a friendless girl with telekinesis who lives with her mom in a small apartment and loves cats?! I can’t think of anything better.
#2
Cat Among the Pigeons by Agatha Christie
Surprisingly, this Christie book has no romance. It was very good, though. And that twist at the end! Man!
#3
The Dragon of Cripple Creek by Troy Howell
This is what started my love of dragons. I should really re-read it….
#4
Matilda by Roald Dahl
Yet another little girl with telekinesis. I’m not sure if she likes cats though.
#5
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
Ooooooooooh! How I cried! I thought I wouldn’t but I did. Such an amazing story.
